  15. The file you've just downloaded will duplicate the DEMO distribution  diskette
  16. in which "Magnum BBS" is sent out.
  17.  
  18. In that the  "installation" of version  6.00D2 can only  be performed via  the
  19. distribution diskette, you  must CREATE a  distribution diskette by  following
  20. these steps:
  21.  
  22.      1) Copy this READ.ME file to your printer and DELETE this file (it
  23.         will be replaced).
  24.  
  25.      2) Insert a HIGH-DENSITY (1.2 Mb or more) FORMATTED diskette into
  26.         diskette drive A.
  27.  
  28.      3) Create a temporary subdirectory on your hard disk. Example:
  29.  
  30.           MD C:\MAGTEMP
  31.           CD C:\MAGTEMP
  32.  
  33.         This subdirectory must have approximately 2 Mb free disk space.
  34.  
  35.      4) Copy the file MAKEDIST.CMD to this subdirectory.
  36.  
  37.      5) Copy the file M600D2.ZIP into this subdirectory.
  38.  
  39.      6) UnZIP the files within M600D2.ZIP:

  41.           CD C:\MAGTEMP
  42.           PKUNZIP2 -o M600D2
  43.  
  44.      7) After insuring that a blank, formatted high-density diskette is in
  45.         your diskette drive A, run the following command:
  46.  
  47.           MAKEDIST
  48.  
  49.      8) When step 7 completes, delete all the files in the temporary
  50.         subdirectory and remove the subdirectory. Example:
  51.  
  52.            CD ..
  53.            DEL C:\MAGTEMP\*.*
  54.            RD C:\MAGTEMP
  55.  
  56.      9) You have now created an exact copy of the distribution diskette for
  57.         the Magnum BBS DEMO version 6.00D2.
  58.         To install version 6.00D2, see the READ.ME file on the distribution
  59.         diskette. It's in the root directory as A:\READ.ME

  65. We cannot guarantee  the integrity of  this DEMO version  if you've downloaded
  66. this file from anywhere but  the "Gilmore Systems of Southern  California" BBS
  67. at (818) 706-9805 or in the U.K. from TJD Software BBS (0535) 665345.  We will
  68. also attempt to make this  distribution available on CompuServe on  the IBMOS2
  69. forum as well  as the IBMBBS  forum; and also  on the IBM  NSC BBS in Atlanta.
